BS EN1504 provides a workable structure to identify problems and to put together a suitable repair and protection solution based on the specific problems of a structure. These options include:

  • Protection against ingress
  • Moisture Control
  • Concrete Restoration
  • Structural Strengthening
  • Increasing Physical Resistance
  • Resistance to Chemicals
  • Preserving or Restoring passivity
  • Increasing Resistivity
  • Cathodic Control
  • Cathodic Protection
  • Control of Anodic areas

Decorative protective coatings, impregnations and crack repair systems can be used to increase protection against ingress, chemicals and for ongoing moisture control which can also increase resistivity. Hand placed, flowable and sprayed concrete repairs systems restore the concrete. CFRP plates and fabrics can be bonded to strengthen structures. Corrosion inhibitors and sacrificial anodes can be used to control corrosion at both anodic and cathodic sites.

All products used for concrete repair and protection now have to be CE marked in accordance with the appropriate part of EN1504.  This includes a wide range of product types;

  • Corrosion Inhibitors,
  • Sacraficial Anodes,
  • Cathodic Protection,
  • Sprayed Concrete,
  • Hand Place Repair Systems,
  • Flowable Concrete,
  • Levelling Materials,
  • Decorative Protective Coatings,
  • Total Corrosion Management (TCM)

We can provide;

  • Technical support to Specifiers and provide guidence on determining problems and subsequent solutions in line with BS EN1504,
  • Strategy support to material producers,
  • Technical guidence to contractors manufacturers and specifiers.
